Modash Alternative: From Vetted List to Deal (2026)
Modash vets the list; the outreach, pricing, and negotiation stay yours. Where the database earns its keep, and what carries the deal after it.
Modash Is a Discovery Database, Not a Pipeline
Modash indexes every public creator on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube — the product is search depth and audience data, not workflow: 250M-plus profiles, fake-follower and audience-quality signals per profile, list building, and per-creator performance monitoring. Payments ship on the upper tiers with a 0% platform fee to $10K a year, per modash.io/pricing (verified 2026-09-22).
Everything after the list is yours: outreach, replies, negotiation, and the deal itself stay in whatever email and CRM you already run.
The Pricing Picture at Modash
Per modash.io/pricing (verified 2026-09-22): Essentials at $199/mo billed yearly (month-to-month list $299, two seats, 300 opened profiles a month), Performance at $499/mo billed yearly (month-to-month list $599), and Enterprise from $14,700/yr with custom limits.
The binding constraint for a small team is the opened-profiles cap on Essentials, not the price. Size your monthly vetting volume against 300 before subscribing; the free trial needs no sales call.
Where Modash Wins
For pure sourcing, Modash is the clean buy in its class: search quality is the product rather than a CRM add-on, pricing publishes openly at every tier, and a 4.9 G2 rating on 20 reviews (as of 2026-09-22) reflects a small user base that rates it highly.
If the bottleneck is finding and vetting the right creators — not what happens after — a database is the right shape of purchase.
After the List, the Math Changes
The database ends where the negotiation starts. Whoever prices the deal, writes the first email, classifies the reply, and carries terms to a confirmed brief does that work outside Modash — usually ad hoc, usually after hours.
A planning-first tool takes the same vetted list and runs it forward: explainable screening keeps the rationale on every card, each deal is priced before outreach, and the Runtime carries the thread from classified reply to sent email on one record — every message checked before it sends, an unsubscribe on each, and no DM channel to automate or keep compliant.

What is Modash
Modash is a creator discovery and analytics database. The product is a search box in front of a large index of public creator profiles across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube — the registry figure we track is 250M-plus profiles — with audience quality and fake-follower signals attached to each profile, list building and vetting workflows on top, performance monitoring per creator, and a Payments feature that charges no platform fee on payouts up to $10K/yr on the upper tiers. It is a search-first data product, not a CRM with search bolted on: there is no sales call required to start, and the whole pricing page is published openly at every tier (figures per modash.io/pricing, verified 2026-09-22).
I sell a planning tool, so the framing below is a competitor framing and you should discount it accordingly. The disclosure paragraph at the end names the two things Modash does better than the planning-first tool; if either is your bottleneck, Modash is your tool. The harder question starts after the list: discovery ends there, and the list is not the part of creator marketing that fails most often.
Pricing as of 2026-09-22
All figures per modash.io/pricing (verified 2026-09-22). The monthly rates shown are the annual-billing rates; the price in parentheses is the month-to-month list rate.
| Tier | Price | What the tier adds |
|---|---|---|
| Essentials | $199/mo billed yearly (month-to-month list $299) | The discovery baseline: search, audience quality and fake-follower signals, list building. 2 seats, 300 opened profiles per month. |
| Performance | $499/mo billed yearly (month-to-month list $599) | Adds performance monitoring per creator and Payments, with no platform fee on payouts up to $10K/yr. |
| Enterprise | From $14,700/yr, custom | Custom limits and an annual contract for teams past the self-serve caps. |
Two things matter about this pricing that the page does not lead with. First, the binding constraint on the entry tier is not the dollar figure, it is the 300 opened profiles per month: a sourcing team that vets dozens of candidates per campaign will feel the cap before it feels the price, and the upgrade to Performance is where that cap lifts. Second, the Payments feature's 0 percent fee up to $10K/yr means the platform does not take a haircut on creator payouts the way marketplace tools do — and the pricing page's Payments FAQ publishes what happens past the limit: above $10K/yr a 5% fee applies to the amount over it, and Enterprise's first tier lifts the 0% band to $100K.
The job Modash actually does in 2026
Modash answers one question with real evidence: who is out there, and is their audience real. You search the index, filter by platform and size, read the audience quality signals on each profile, and assemble a vetted list. That job — call it evidence-based sourcing — is genuinely hard, and Modash does it cleanly. The free trial is self-serve, the database covers all three major platforms, and the audience data is attached to the profile instead of behind a sales call.
The boundary is where the list ends. Outreach, negotiation, pricing the deal, classifying the reply, confirming the brief, and paying the creator all happen outside Modash — in your own email client, spreadsheet, or CRM. The registry record for the product says it directly: no campaign management between sourcing and payout. A vetted list is the input to the hard part of the job, not the output of it. Teams that feel this usually discover it after the first campaign: the list was excellent, the twenty personalized emails that had to be written by hand were the bottleneck, and nothing in the database moved them forward.
What Modash does cleanly that the alternatives do not
1. Search depth with the vetting data already attached.
The index spans 250M-plus public profiles across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, and the audience quality and fake-follower signals sit on the profile itself — you do not export to a second tool to check whether the audience is real. The all-in-one platforms put comparable data behind demo-gated annual contracts: Aspire publishes no public pricing at all per aspire.io (verified 2026-09-22). Modash's free trial gets you to the same evidence in an afternoon with no sales call.
2. Honest, published, self-serve pricing.
Every tier is on the public pricing page — $199/mo Essentials, $499/mo Performance, Enterprise from $14,700/yr per modash.io/pricing (verified 2026-09-22) — with the list-versus-discounted rates shown plainly. In the creator-ops category we track, that transparency is the exception: GRIN meters work through AI credits where the real monthly cost depends on usage, and Aspire and CreatorIQ publish no prices at all. The Payments feature also charges no platform fee on payouts up to $10K/yr, so the tool does not tax the money that moves through it at self-serve volumes.
If your bottleneck is finding and vetting creators — if you already run outreach and deals in your own stack and the list is what slows you down — the comparison is over. Modash is the cleanest buy in its lane. Stop reading and start the trial.
What the review pattern actually says
Modash holds 4.9/5 on G2 from 20 reviews, per g2.com/products/modash/reviews (verified 2026-09-22). That is the highest G2 average among the creator-ops tools we track — GRIN sits at 4.5 from 483 reviews and Heepsy at 4.5 from 41, on the same platform and the same verification date. The pattern behind the score, from our own read of the category, is what you would expect from the product's shape: the praise concentrates on search quality and database depth, the two things the product is.
The small-sample caveat
Twenty reviews is a thin base and it should temper the headline number. A 4.9 from 20 reviews and a 4.5 from 483 are not the same quality of evidence: the first is a small self-selected group, the second is a distribution. It takes only a handful of below-average reviews to move a 20-review average by tenths of a point. The rating is evidence that the people who bothered to review it were satisfied; it is not yet evidence about how the product behaves for the median customer at scale, or how support responds when something breaks. Read the individual reviews at the G2 page above — at this sample size you can genuinely read all of them, which is more than can be said for most tools in this category.
The honest read: Modash is well liked by the customers who have reviewed it, and the review base is too small to treat the 4.9 as a category-leading guarantee. Nothing in the review pattern contradicts what the product page claims; nothing in it yet proves durability either.
Where a planning-first tool actually beats Modash
Modashanswers “who should I work with.” The planning-first job starts at the next question: what is this collaboration worth to this brand, what does the first email say, and what happens when the reply lands. Modash hands you a vetted list and stops; everything between that list and a confirmed deal is manual work in your own tools.
The screening rationale travels with the candidate
A Modash profile shows you the audience signals; a Superdirector card shows you the reasoning — why this creator cleared the audience and authenticity bar for this brand, in words you can audit and defend. When a client or a teammate asks why a creator made the cut, the answer is on the card, not in the reviewer's head.
Outreach is priced before it is written
Every creator carries a number derived from their own evidence before the first email exists. The letter proposes that exchange instead of an unpriced "would you be interested," and the negotiation defends the same figure. The list-to-first-email step that Modash leaves to you is the step where the money gets decided.
From reply to deal without leaving the record
The Runtime path from a classified reply to a queued send runs thirteen pre-send checks — suppression, duplicates, staleness, and the per-kind release policy among them — and the deal state (what was agreed, at what price, what still needs confirming) lives on the same record the email came from. Nothing is re-typed into a second system, and nothing depends on someone remembering a thread.
A team whose whole job is audience research — an agency building lists for many clients, or an in-house team that already runs outreach in its own CRM — is correct to buy Modash and skip the rest. A team where the pipeline from list to signed deal is the constraint is buying more list when the problem is the nine steps after it.
Modash alternatives landscape
The creator-marketing tooling market splits into discovery databases and creator-ops platforms. Modashis the purest discovery database of the group; the others add workflow and charge for it in different ways. Entry prices below are the lowest paid self-serve tier on each vendor's own pricing page.
| Tool | Entry price | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Modash | From $199/mo per modash.io/pricing (verified 2026-09-22) | Discovery and analytics database across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube; outreach and deals stay in your stack. |
| GRIN | From $200/mo Starter (Free plan at 200 credits) per grin.co/pricing (verified 2026-09-22) | Full creator-ops CRM: affiliate codes, payments, program management; AI features metered in credits, so real cost tracks usage. |
| Heepsy | From $69/mo per heepsy.com/pricing (verified 2026-09-22) | Lighter-weight discovery search; the entry tier opens only 10 advanced profiles/mo, so volume sourcing pushes you up its plans quickly. |
| Aspire | No public pricing per aspire.io (verified 2026-09-22); third-party reviews report entry near $2,299/mo | Quote-only ambassador and affiliate platform for Shopify-native brands, sold on demo-gated annual contracts. |
| Collabstr | Free plan (10% hiring fee), Pro from $249/mo billed annually per collabstr.com/pricing (verified 2026-09-22) | Creator marketplace: hire per collaboration from a listed catalog rather than sourcing the market yourself. |
| CreatorIQ | No public pricing per creatoriq.com (verified 2026-09-22) | Enterprise creator-ops suite; everything is gated behind a sales conversation. |
The pattern most teams land on: a discovery database (Modashor Heepsy) to build the vetted list, a creator-ops platform (GRIN or Aspire) if the program runs through affiliates and payouts at volume, and a planning layer to price the outreach and carry each deal from first email to confirmed brief. Buying two of the three is normal; the mistake is assuming any one of them covers the other two's job.

Disclosure
This comparison is published by Superdirector, a planning-first competitor. Two things Modash does better than the planning-first tool are named explicitly above: search depth with the vetting data already attached, and honest published self-serve pricing. If either is your bottleneck, Modash is the right tool. If your bottleneck sits after the list — the pricing decision, the first email, the reply, the confirmed brief — the planning-first tool is built for that job.

Choosing the Right Tool
The right tool depends on the job your team needs to finish:
- →Choose Superdirector if you want to understand why videos work and create original content with professional production plans.
- →Choose Modash for teams that source creators themselves and only need the database: fast search, real audience data, no CRM required..
If the bottleneck is research, scripting, or production direction, start with a supported reference and see whether the resulting analysis gives your team a clearer brief to film from.
