yow yow yow, I thought I should say hi to the newbies 🌟 welcome gals to a lil corner of the internet for the freelance girlies and creative biz owners…I’m Meg & I’m the face behind The Social Plot A lil about me: ⏱️ I’ve been building my business for over 3 years now 🍰 I was a baker before becoming a social media manager (I know, what a pivot) 📆 I’m best known for my content plans (& I’ve made the BEST content planning system for my biz which SO many of you now use - brings me A LOT of JOY 💗💗) 🎓 I’m a self-taught marketer & believe in building your OWN experience ❌ the “end goal” of The Social Plot is NOT to build an agency. I like it just me. ✅ the “end goal” of TSP is to build on the community that I’ve already got here & on the other app - that part of the job is my fav part ✨ 🐾 I have ZERO employees, but I do have a cat who’s basically my right-hand man 🍵 my wife works in speciality coffee, so I get delish coffee every day (don’t be too jel) 🏡 I’m moving from Brighton ➡️ Bath this year (& I’m so so so excited!!!!) 🤳 I think that being a messy creative is the best way to work, you learn quicker from your mistakes imo & tbh I find perfectionism annoying (I’m so sorry but it’s true 🤭) Ly gals xoxox #socialmediamanagerlife #socialmediamanagers

So how do you land a client as a new social media manager? If this is your goal in 2026, I’ve got you girl 💅🏼👀 The first step is having a portfolio of work that shows what you can do for a brand. Whether you’ve worked with someone before or you’ve created content for a hypothetical brand, the aim of the portfolio is to demonstrate the value you can provide. BUT a solid portfolio is pointless if you don’t have anyone seeing it. A really simple but effective way to get people viewing your portfolio is to base your first month of content around driving traffic from Social Media to that link in your bio. Watch the full video for the details on how to do exactly that 🙌 And if you want to be a Social Media manager in 2026, I would love to know what are the biggest drawbacks or challenges you’re facing right now ? #socialmediamanagers #socialmediamanagerlife #socialmediamarketingstrategy #marketingportfolio

I’m not saying Notion changed my life…actually, wait. I am saying that 👀💅 It’s the ONLY place I plan content for myself and my clients. One system. One calendar. One place for everything from feedback to file links. If you’re still juggling 5 apps and 3 inboxes, this one’s for you. Drop “NOTION CALENDAR” below and I’ll send you the link to mine ✨ #contentplanning #contentmarketingstrategy #socialmediamanagers #socialmediamanagerlife #freelancesocialmediamanager #socialmediamarketing101

the people who watch your stories, screenshot your posts, or have a group chat about how you’re “cringe” they’re always watching and most of the time, it’s not really about you!!! it’s about the fact that you’re doing the thing they’re too scared to do. you’re posting putting your face out there launching your offer saying what you think shooting your shot while they sit there imagining how they *could* do it how they’d “make so much money if they tried”, but never actually pressing post 🙃 it’s easier to judge than to participate. & hard to admit…”I wish I had the guts to do that myself” social media has opened doors that didn’t even exist before. I’ve seen creators go from filming in their bedrooms to: ⭐️ hosting red carpet events 🎭performing in the West End 📺 fronting TV shows 💸 building six-figure businesses 🌍 creating real communities this platform rewards the people who take the shot. is it scary? yes. does it require thick skin? absolutely. but the ones who put themselves out there are the ones who get the opportunities. people will judge you either way ➡️ you may as well let them judge you while you build the thing you wanna build!!!! don’t let someone else’s insecurity shrink your ambition gorg peeps!! 🫶✨
