Here’s how to be angry without being an a**hole about it 😡 Today on stoicism but make it cute, we’re covering a practical application of stoicism rather than a core stoic concept itself. We’re talking about anger, which is an emotion we all feel from time to time. Buuut, that’s not an excuse to behave in hurtful or harmful ways… good thing a stoic philosopher wrote a whole book on this emotion. Better yet, modern psychology agrees with most of his ideas on it! As always, there’s a looot more to say about everything I’m mentioning. This video is meant only as an easy-to-digest introduction to the topic. You can find a longer version of this going into more detail in the 22nd issue of my newsletter, the Soft Stoic Letter, out now. (🔗 in b10) 💌 - 🧚♀️ comment „stoicgirl“ if you want a way to learn more about stoicism & psychology and apply it in real life, or check the 🔗 in my b10. - Also lil disclaimer: pls take this with a grain of salt, I’m not trying to mock anyone, this is for funsies (and a bit of education). It is just me trying to approach a rather “dry” topic of a philosophy that’s been branded in a very tough and masculine way in the past through a modern and more humorous lens. Hope you likey and hope you learned sth today! Here’s how to actually do the things you say you’ll do 🫡 Today on stoicism but make it cute, we’re covering a practical application of stoicism rather than a core stoic concept itself. The topic is discipline, and we’re discovering how discipline has much more to do with building self trust and self respect rather than hustle culture. As always, there’s a lot more to say about everything I’m mentioning. This video is meant only as an easy-to-digest introduction to the topic. You can find a longer version of this going into more detail in the 18th issue of my newsletter, the Soft Stoic Letter, out now. ok so let’s talk about discipline real quick bc i think we’ve all been lied to about what it actually means… most of us think discipline = waking up at 5am or grinding until you collapse or self-punishment but here’s what i believe it actually is: keeping your word to yourself every time you say “i’ll do the thing” and then don’t, you’re teaching yourself that your word means nothing. your self-trust erodes bit by bit until you can’t even rely on yourself anymore we’re all out here waiting for motivation like it’s a bus that’s definitely coming. scrolling for inspiration, waiting for the “right mood,” telling ourselves “tomorrow i’ll feel like it” except feelings are wildly unreliable. they depend on sleep, stress, hormones, whether you fought with your partner last night now, what actually works is ✨doing the thing bc you said you would, regardless of how you feel in that moment ✨ and that action then creates the motivation you were waiting for all along! here’s how to practice self-trust and therefore discipline: 💖 pick ONE tiny thing (not ten) 💖 make it so small it feels almost silly (examples below) 💖 do it every time you said you would 💖 after one week of showing up, make it juuuust a bit bigger for the following week. 🧚♀️ examples: not “journal for 30 min” → write one sentence not “work out an hour” → do 5 min of movement not “read a book a week” → read one page the size doesn’t matter!! keeping the promise matters. bc every kept promise = evidence you can trust yourself I know starting small is annoying; but soon you’ll see how these small wins compound in ways you can’t even seeee yet 🙇♀️ so: what’s one small thing you’re gonna keep your word on today? 📒 if you want structured exercises for building discipline and developing self-trust, my workbook the stoic girl starter pack has an entire module on daily practices with habit-building tools (as well as an in-depth worksheet for today’s practice). comment “secret” and I’ll send you the details! 🧸🤎 🏷️ building discipline , productivity hacks , #discipline #selfimprovement #motivation #mindsetshift #thatgirlenergy

Here’s how to do scary things without having a whole breakdown first 🫠 (not saying you can’t still have that breakdown afterwards tho hehe 🤫) Today on stoicism but make it cute, we’re talking about how courage isn’t heroic acts most of the time, but found in quiet, ordinary actions. Courage is choosing what matters over what’s comfortable. It’s having that conversation you’ve been avoiding, it’s asking for help, admitting you were wrong, or acting before you’re ready. This video is meant only as an introduction to the stoic virtue „courage“, bc obviously there’s a lot more to be said about this topic. You can find a longer version going into more detail in the second issue of my newsletter, the Soft Stoic Letter, out now. 💌 ** llustrations from 'Víla Amálka' by Václav Bedřich ** - 💻 you can download these slides for free through the 🔗 in my bio btw!! 🧚♀️ comment „secret“ and I’ll send you the details to my stoic girl starter pack. - Also lil disclaimer: pls take this with a grain of salt, I’m not trying to mock anyone, this is for funsies (and a bit of education).
