ANYTHING WE CREATE SHOULD BE A FUN PROCESS !!!! i mean it !!!!

this is exactly how to design your own magazine step by step on @canva

and when i tell you.. stepping outside of the usual video editing & carousel curation, purely for keeping up with posting.. was so refreshing.

i’m tempted to maybe even print this magazine, and make a new version every 6 months? what a fun way to keep memories!

First I started with a blank magazine template. There are tons to choose from. Search for magazine and pick one that feels close to what you want.
[00:14]
I would recommend starting with something minimal because it's way easier to build up rather than stripping something back to try and make it feel like you.

#2 design the cover
[on-screen text]
[00:20]
TALENT
The cover page was the most important one to get right because this actually ended up setting the tone for how I wanted to design the rest of the pages.
[00:27]
For big heading text, I used my main usual logo font and then use the exact same font only smaller and not bolded for anything small like subtext.
INT./EXT. — SOLUTION
Detail the structural and layout phase of the magazine.

#3 structure
[on-screen text]
[00:38]
TALENT
For the layout of each page, I kept asking myself if this felt like us, because it would be really easy to go down a rabbit hole of making it look like a generic magazine.
[00:45]
But the whole point is that it reflects your brand.
[00:48]
So I pulled in our colors, our style, our imagery that we like to use in edits for clients and from our site.
[00:53]
Photos. I already had a full brand kit saved in Canva, so I dragged in everything from there.

Total time it took to design was about six hours.
[01:05]
Not a quick project, but honestly, that's what made it so enjoyable.
[01:08]
And the best part is that once it's done, you can easily share a link to anyone that you want to send it or show it to.
[01:13]
Or you can get it printed out with Canva's print feature.
